About Us
Hi, we are Max and Deirdre. We are in our early 30s, and both grew up in the same community of Catholic homeschooling families in Southern California. Our families met when we were 9, and we became better friends throughout our high school years. We married in 2011 and embarked on a journey to start a family and a farm. Building a conscious culture in a changing world is the common thread that ties our various passions together. With roots in the past, and eyes to the future, we navigate the 21st Century's wealth of cultural choices to make a life that is... intentional, innovative, meaningful, creative, healthy, beautiful, abundant, rooted in Christ, rooted in nature, nourished by tradition.

Our Blog
We created this blog to chronicle our life and talk about our interests and passions. We believe life can be so much more meaningful than what the modern world considers "normal," and we like to challenge the status quo. Our interests cover a broad range of topics including:
Our Catholic faith is the heart and soul of everything we love and do, and is the rationalization and inspiration for all our life's choices. While this blog and site is not overtly or explicitly Catholic, we feel compelled to mention the deep influence our faith has on our life. We hope Catholics and others will each find something beautiful here, since after all -- beauty knows no bounds and is recognized by all!
- Organic farming, especially small-scale commercial farming as a profession and vocation

- Renewing rural communities and addressing excessive urbanization
- Education, homeschooling, children's literature
- Homemaking and homesteading skills
